Artist’s Statement:
With the oil technique I create portraits based on images that only photography can capture. Therefore, unique images turn unique again once they are painted; a new meaning appears for that particular picture, moment and identity.

Through painting the artist investigates ways in which the light structures the scenes and fills them with drama and mystery, as well as photographic defects, – blurred or cut images and strange reframing, for example- can be dignified at the time they are represented.
